PROJECT GOAL

The goal of the SEE URBAN project is to apply and adjust the examples of good practice of uniting local self-government units to reduce the risk of elemental disasters and other accidents in the countries of South East Europe to mitigate the consequences of these events and protect people, the environment and property.

WHY IS THE PROJECT NEEDED?

Exposure of the population to natural disasters and other accidents, as well as the economic losses caused by disasters, are continuously increasing in both the countries of the region and in Croatia. Forecasts suggest that the exposure of Southeast European countries due to climate change will progressively increase in elemental disasters and other accidents.
